So good to get out of the house after being home with a cold for a while. Getting in the right headspace for all work, adventures and inspiration lined up in the upcoming year. 2012 was such an amazing year for me musically/culturally and I just wanna keep the energy going. Much love to the folks I connected w/ in 2012. Onwards & upwards yall.
Had the good fortune of spinning with the homies Sig-O, SmoovGroovs & Nerstylist about a week ago at The Pagoda in San Jose. All of us had talked about collaborating for a whiille so it was ill just to see it come to fruition. Nerstylist and I used to do a monthly party called Substance and SigO & SmoovGroovs used to throw one called The Pickup so we definitely had that love of uptempo dance music going for us.
My hometown San Jose doesn’t always get much love for it’s nightlife but thankfully the party gods gave us a great night =) Helluva way to round out the end of 2012. Lookin forward to more of these in 2013!
Video from the highly anticipated Julio Bashmore set in SF over the weekend. UK funky…90’s house jams…and more! The venue was super ill. We did a SOfit event at that spot a couple of months ago so I had an idea of the layout and space but gotta give it up to DJ Dials and Lights Down Low for coming correct with the sound, lighting and line up. I feel like SF nights like those are rare so when they happen….ya gotta savor it for a minute. Hoping for many more in 2013!
